| At 9:03am today, the RFD responded to a Signal-13, structure fire, at the Parkview Mobile Home Park. Upon arrival we found a smoky condition inside the home. A quick investigation found the fire to be under the home, in the floorboards. The homeowner had reportedly been using a torch, thawing frozen pipes, earlier this morning. Approximately seventy Riverhead Fire Department volunteers responded to this alarm, along with four apparatus. The chiefs turned the scene over to the Southampton Fire Marshall's office, and all were returned to quarters by 9:32am. |
