November 14, 2025

Early yesterday morning, just before 7:00 AM, Riverhead Fire Department units returned to the scene of the barn fire on Sound Avenue after smoke was observed coming from the remaining debris.

Crews located smoldering material within the collapsed rubble and worked to fully extinguish the remaining hotspots. The Riverhead Town Highway Department responded with a payloader to assist in moving debris, allowing firefighters to access and extinguish deep-seated pockets of fire.

Thank you to the Highway Department for their assistance and to the members who responded back to the scene.
