Just before 6:30 PM last night, we were dispatched for reports of heavy smoke in the area of Sound Ave & Edwards Ave. Units located a brush/mulch fire to the west of the reported area.

Crews responded with our ladder truck, brush truck, engines, and tanker, working quickly to contain and extinguish the fire before it could spread further.

We also requested mutual aid from the Wading River Fire Department, who responded with their tanker to assist with water supply. Thank you to Wading River FD for the support and teamwork.

As always, great job by all responding personnel for a quick and coordinated response.
