| Last night, at approximately 7:33 p.m., the Riverhead Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Joyce Drive. Crews encountered smoke showing and a fire on the second floor. The incident was upgraded to a working fire, and the fire was quickly knocked down by responding crews.
Riverhead firefighters continued operating at the scene until approximately 8:20 p.m. The Jamesport Fire Department was requested to the scene as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), while the Flanders Fire Department provided standby coverage at Riverhead Fire Department Headquarters.
