On Sunday morning, at 11:48am, the Riverhead Fire Department was called out for a reported Signal-23, MVA, at the intersection of Twomey Avenue and Deep Hole Road, in Calverton.

First arriving units found that a tractor-trailer had collided with a passenger vehicle. The driver of the car was already out and being transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment.

The cars battery was disconnected to prevent fire, and various liquids were contained by the use of absorbent materials from off Heavy Rescue Truck 6-2-11. Engine 6-2-4 was put on a Signal-9, standby, at the scene.

All units and chiefs 31, 32 and 33 cleared from this alarm by 12:15pm.
