Sunday was a great day for a drive in the woods with 6-2-12A, 6-2-12B and Cutchogue Fire Department's Brush Truck. A cross training was set up with Riverhead's Red Birds and Reliables along with the Cutchogue Fire Department. Everyone who was there got a good feeling on what it's like going for a ride on the brush trucks. Those who wanted to were ables to drive through some deep water and slippery hills. There were large puddles on the trails due to the recent rains. Those who sat in the back of the truck were able to get a feel for hose and learned real quick to keep heads, hands and other body parts within the cage of the truck. They also realized how tough it could be controlling the nozzle when the truck is moving. Other items that were covered were chain saws, axes and winching equipment. Cutchouge was happy to come down because they do not have the terrain and areas to drive practice in Cutchogue.
