Riverhead Fire Department Annual Installation and Awards Dinner

This year Riverhead Fire Department recognized our 175th anniversary with our annual installment and awards dinner. The event was held at headquarters on Roanoke Ave. It truly turned out to be a night enjoyed by all. This year all four chiefs were re-elected and installed into their roles they held in 2010. Awards were given out for top ten responders, company of the year and Firefighter of the Year. Kevin Kosciuszko received this award for saving a drowning child in 2010. Also special recognition was given to Ex-Commissioner William Bilsky for his years of service to the district. Though all the awards were entertaining, the most exciting moment of the night goes to FF Brian Linnen when he proposed, in front of the entire crowd, to his then girlfriend, and now fiancé, Mary Gebhardt.
