At 1930 hours Riverhead Fire Department was dispatch to a chimney fire at 1418 Pulaski St. The first arriving chief found that sparks from the chimney had ignited the roof. RFD was re-activated for a signal 13 (Structure Fire). The first engine on scene, 6-2-1, pulled off two 1-3/4" lines and started to extinguish the fire on the roof. Engine 6-2-2 hooked up a supply line to 6-2-1. Ladder 6-2-6 was set up on the grass area to investigate the chimney and roof. The quick stop by the hose teams prevented the fire from spreading throughout the building. All apparatus returned to quarters at 2014HRS.
