The Riverhead Fire Department had a full weekend of activity! Things started Friday afternoon with a CO emergency at a commercial building, followed Saturday morning by wires down on Roanoke Avenue where our crews helped keep traffic safe. Later that day, our brothers in Wading River called us for mutual aid at a structure fire at the Shoreham-Wading River High School gym. Today, our members were back out again handling two more commercial CO emergencies.
Even with all that going on, we were still able to take part in the 50th Annual Polish Town Fair on Saturday and Sunday. Our members brought down an engine, handed out applications to those interested in joining, ran a few drills, and gave kids the chance to climb into the truck and check it out.
A big thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who made it possible to balance serving the community at emergencies while also spending time connecting with neighbors at the fair.
