By Firefighter James Niewadomski/Videos by Ex-Chief Steve Beal & 1st Lt. Mark Hodun Jr.
August 23, 2025

This afternoon, we proudly held a wet down ceremony to dedicate our brand-new rigs: Chiefs' vehicles 6-2-30 and 6-2-32, and our impressive 6-2-7, a 4,000-gallon tanker! 🎉

A huge THANK YOU to the following departments for joining us to bless our new apparatus and making this event so special:

Flanders Fire Department (Engine for standby & Tanker for wet down)
Jamesport Fire Department (Ladder)
Ridge Fire Department (Engine)
Manorville Fire Department (Ladder)
Southampton Fire Department (Ladder)
Wading River Fire Department (Tanker)
Mattituck Fire Department (Engine)
East Marion Fire Department (Ladder)

Special shoutout to Flanders Fire Department for not only participating but also handling standby duties and responding to two alarms during the wet down. Your support means the world! 🙏

We're thrilled to have these new rigs in service to better protect our community. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! 🚨
