On Thursday, November 13th, just before 5:00 PM, the Riverhead Fire Department was dispatched to the Riverhead Landing Apartments at 1145 Middle Road for a reported heavy rescue involving a vehicle into a tree with a vehicle fire.

Units arrived on scene and confirmed a working vehicle fire. The vehicle had also struck a fire hydrant. Firefighters quickly stretched a line and extinguished the fire while checking for hazards. Upon arrival, there was no entrapment.
