Multiple-Department Drill Held at EPCAL

By Ex-Captain Robert Inzalaco
September 28, 2009

On this rainy Sunday morning, the Manorville Fire Department hosted a drill with a few of their neighboring departments at the EPCAL site. Riverhead Fire Department attended with Engine 6-2-4, Tower Ladder 6-2-6, and Tanker 6-2-7. The purpose of this drill was to determine optimum equipment placement, and water supply logistics, at the sites new structures. A command center was established, and a rehab area set up, to the west of the scene. Tower Ladder trucks and Engines worked together on the perimeter of the buildings. Tanker trucks were used to supplement the available hydrants on site by keeping their portable water holding tanks full.
